Fourth Day of the Project: Visit to Istanbul
https://www.facebook.com/share/p/gbUP5dtySmMLiJGw/Our first stop was the Sultanahmet Mosque, one of the most magnificent works of the Ottoman Empire. Our guests couldn't hide their admiration for the elegant blue tiles and impressive architecture of this unique structure. After touring the interior of the mosque and receiving detailed information, we moved on to Topkapı Palace.
Topkapı Palace received great interest as the place where Ottoman sultans lived and ruled for 400 years. The Harem section, sacred relics section, and magnificent rooms where the sultans lived inside the palace fascinated our guests. After leaving Topkapı Palace, we visited Hagia Sophia Mosque and Museum.
Hagia Sophia is a magnificent structure carrying traces of both the Byzantine and Ottoman periods. With a history of over 1500 years, Hagia Sophia offered our guests a journey into the depths of history. The mosaics inside the mosque, the giant dome, and the spacious interior attracted everyone's great interest.
After Hagia Sophia, we visited the Basilica Cistern. The Basilica Cistern, dating back to the Byzantine period, is known as a gigantic underground water reservoir. The mystical atmosphere, columns, and lighting inside provided our guests with unforgettable moments. After leaving the Basilica Cistern, we visited the Grand Bazaar, Istanbul's most famous and historical shopping center.
The Grand Bazaar offers visitors a labyrinth with thousands of shops. Our guests had the opportunity to both shop and get acquainted with traditional Turkish handicrafts, carpets, jewelry, and spices. After the Grand Bazaar, we embarked on the most exciting part of our Istanbul trip, the Bosphorus tour.
The Bosphorus tour offered the opportunity to discover the unique beauties of Istanbul between the European and Asian continents by sea. During the tour, we watched historical structures such as the Bosphorus Bridge, Ortaköy Mosque, Dolmabahçe Palace, and Rumeli Fortress from the sea. This tour on the cool waters of the Bosphorus was an unforgettable experience for our guests.
