On Friday, Furkan Yiğit at the Forestry Directorate explained worldwide and in Turkey, the efforts for forest vegetation, protection, afforestation, and combating deforestation on regional and national levels. After the presentation, we moved to Orhangazi Public Education Center. After introducing the school, the guests toured the classrooms and workshops, participating in painting, music, and paper relief workshops.
In the schoolyard, students from all participating countries planted fruit trees. This activity aimed to increase environmental awareness and strengthen international cooperation. Afterwards, a visit to the historical local neighborhood market was organized, and traditional dishes were served. Our guests had the opportunity to explore local products and the traditional Turkish cuisine at the market. The group participating in the marbling workshop by Recep Ali Tanış, the art teacher at Atatürk Middle School, experienced traditional Turkish art by creating their own marbling works.
